Kelluyo (Aymara Q'illuyu, q'illu yellow, uyu corral,[1] "yellow corral") is one of seven districts of the Chucuito Province in Peru.[2]

Geography

One of the highest elevations of the district is Wila Nasa at approximately 4,200 m (13,800 ft). Other mountains are listed below:[3]

Ethnic groups

The people in the district are mainly indigenous citizens of Aymara descent. Aymara is the language which the majority of the population (84.47%) learnt to speak in childhood, 14.50% of the residents started speaking using the Spanish language (2007 Peru Census).[4]

[de] Distrikt Kelluyo

Der Distrikt Kelluyo liegt in der Provinz Chucuito in der Region Puno in Süd-Peru. Der Distrikt wurde am 1. Juni 1982 gegründet. Der Distrikt Kelluyo hat eine Fläche von 486 km². Beim Zensus 2017 wurden 7346 Einwohner gezählt.[1] Im Jahr 1993 lag die Einwohnerzahl bei 8138, im Jahr 2007 bei 17.869.[1] Verwaltungssitz des Distriktes ist die 3830 m hoch gelegene Ortschaft Kelluyo mit 866 Einwohnern (Stand 2017). Kelluyo liegt 60 km südsüdöstlich der Provinzhauptstadt Juli sowie knapp 130 km südöstlich der Regionshauptstadt Puno.
