It borders the Beijing districts of Miyun and Shunyi to the north and west, respectively, Tianjin's Jizhou District to the southeast, and in Hebei province, Xinglong County and Sanhe to the northeast and south, respectively.
Not to be confused with Pingu.

History
Pinggu District was formerly Pinggu County until 2001. In 1986, the 10,000-capacity Pinggu Stadium, which is used mostly for football matches, opened.
Economy
Pinggu district prides itself on the cultivation of the peach.
Transportation
The planned Pinggu line will connect the District to the Beijing Subway system.

Pinggu (chinesisch .mw-parser-output .Hant{font-size:110%}平谷區 / .mw-parser-output .Hans{font-size:110%}平谷区, Pinyin Pínggǔ Qū) ist ein Stadtbezirk im Osten der chinesischen Hauptstadt Peking. Der Kreis Pinggu existierte bis 2001. Der Bezirk umfasst eine Fläche von 948 km², hat 457.313 Einwohner (Stand: Zensus 2020)[1] und grenzt östlich an die Hafenmetropole Tianjin. Bei Volkszählungen wurden 1990 in Pinggu 386.234 Einwohner gezählt, 396.701 im Jahr 2000, und 415.958 im Jahr 2010.[2] Pinggu ist vorwiegend landwirtschaftlich geprägt und hat für den Pfirsichanbau regionale Bedeutung.
