The municipality consists of the following districts: Gottignies, Le Rœulx, Mignault, Thieu, and Ville-sur-Haine.
The Château du Rœulx, a family seat of the Comtes de Croÿ-Rœulx, is situated near the town.

Le Rœulx (wallonisch: El Rû) ist eine belgische Kleinstadt mit 8735 Einwohnern (Stand 1. Januar 2020) in der Provinz Hennegau. Sie liegt 45 km südlich von Brüssel an der Kreuzung der Autobahn Paris-Brüssel und der wallonischen Autobahn, verkehrsgünstig an Mons, Brüssel und Charleroi angebunden.
