Taylor Creek was originally known as Sheartown in the 19th century.[5]
Taylor Creek is located at 39°14′11″N 84°40′59″W,[6] 15 miles (24 km) northwest of downtown Cincinnati. It occupies the southwestern portion of Colerain Township, bounded on the west and north by the Great Miami River.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 8.4 square miles (21.8 km2). This area was all land.[4]
