Basharat (Urdu: بشارت) is a village and union council, an administrative subdivision, of Chakwal District in the Punjab Province of Pakistan, it is part of Choa Saidan Shah Tehsil.[1]It's civilization dates to about 350-500 years old as ruins of Hindu settlements were discovered here.Moreover it is also home to Punjab's third tallest peak the Chehl Abdal Abdal which is also famous for religious rituals.

Its location in Jhangar valley also makes it important for tourism. Former prime minister Imran Khan also approved the project of Arra Basharat National park to boost tourism in the area. Jhangar valley is also important for biodiversity because it is home to some of the most endangered species like Urial deer.
However recent attempts to establish industries pose threat to local biodiversity in the region. However locals are taking a stand to protect biodiversity and beauty of the area.
