Porto Ceresio (Varesino: Pòrt Cerési) is a comune (municipality) on Lake Lugano in the Province of Varese in the Italian region Lombardy, located about 50 kilometres (31 miles) northwest of Milan and about 11 km (7 mi) northeast of Varese, on the border with Switzerland. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 3,080 and an area of 5.1 square kilometres (2.0 sq mi).[3]
