It is located in the Southwest Finland region. The municipality has a population of 1,337 (31 December 2021)[2] and covers an area of 117.72 square kilometres (45.45 sq mi) of which 0.1 km2 (0.039 sq mi) is water.[1] The population density is 11.37 inhabitants per square kilometre (29.4/sq mi).
The municipality is unilingually Finnish.

Die größten finnischen Städte Helsinki, Espoo, Vantaa, Tampere und Turku liegen alle im Umkreis von gut 100 Kilometer um die Ortschaft. Die nächstgelegene Stadt ist Loimaa, die etwa 20 Kilometer östlich liegt.
