Pope Township is one of twenty townships in Fayette County, Illinois, USA. As of the 2010 census, its population was 213, and it contained 93 housing units.[2] It was formed from part of Kaskaskia Township in March 1878.

According to the 2010 census, the township has a total area of 30.28 square miles (78.4 km2), of which 25.41 square miles (65.8 km2) (or 83.92%) is land and 4.87 square miles (12.6 km2) (or 16.08%) is water.[2]
The township contains these three cemeteries: Bear Creek, Magassi and Pratt.
