Harrison Township was organized in 1856.[4] It was served by the Arbor Hill post office (41°22′00″N 94°19′06″W[5]) from 1857 to 1907.[6][7]
Harrison Township covers an area of 35.87 square miles (92.9 km2) and contains no incorporated settlements. According to the USGS, it contains two cemeteries: Fairview and Roberts.
