Geschichte


Das County wurde am 20. September 1787 gebildet. Der Name geht auf die religiöse Führerin und Missionarin Selina Hastings, Countess of Huntingdon zurück.[3]

Zwei Orte im County haben den Status einer National Historic Landmark, die East Broad Top Railroad und die Pulpit Rocks.[4] 42 Bauwerke und Stätten des Countys sind im National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) eingetragen (Stand 23. Juli 2018).[5]

Huntingdon County is a county located in the center of the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. As of the 2010 census, the population was 45,913.[1] Its county seat is Huntingdon.[2] The county was created on September 20, 1787, mainly from the north part of Bedford County, plus an addition of territory on the east (Big Valley, Tuscarora Valley) from Cumberland County.
