Gangbuk District (Gangbuk-gu) is one of the 25 gu which make up the city of Seoul, South Korea. Its name is derived from it being located at the north of Han river. It was created from neighbouring Dobong District (도봉구) in 1995. The current mayor is Park Gyeom-su(박겸수).

Gangbuk-gu es uno de los 25 distritos (gu) de Seúl, Corea del Sur. Su nombre significa literalmente Río-norte gu, con lo cual se entiende que su nombre proviene de su emplazamiento al norte del río Han. Fue creado en 1995 a partir del vecino Dobong-gu (도봉구), quedando dividido en 18 dongs.
