Juan del Grijalva is a small village (approx. 416 inhabitants ) in the Mexican state of Chiapas. It is part of the Municipality of Ostuacán and is located in the north end of the state on the banks of the Grijalva River, between the Peñitas Dam and the Malpaso Dam.

On November 5, 2007 a landslide from an adjacent hill fell on the Grijalva River, causing a wave of 50 meters of height that struck the town and destroyed all its buildings.

Juan del Grijalva (denominado en ocasiones Juan de Grijalva o San Juan de Grijalva, pero cuyo nombre oficial de acuerdo al INEGI es Juan del Grijalva[4]) fue una población del estado de Chiapas en México, localizada al extremo norte de la entidad, en el municipio de Ostuacán. Juan del Grijalva recibe este nombre por encontrarse en las márgenes del Río Grijalva, unos ocho kilómetros aguas arriba de la Presa Peñitas, por lo cual se encuentra muy cercana a la frontera de Chiapas y Tabasco.
