Ahar County (Persian: شهرستان اهر) is located in East Azerbaijan province, Iran. The capital of the county is Ahar.[1] At the 2006 census, the county's population (including those portions of the county later split off to form Hurand County) was 147,781, in 34,067 families.[2] At the 2016 census, the county's population was 154,530, in 46,202 families.[3]
