Baruth (Upper Sorbian: Bart) is a village in the east of Saxony, Germany. It is part of the municipality of Malschwitz.[1] It belongs to the district of Bautzen and lies 15 km northeast of the eponymous city. The Sorbs have long inhabited the area; while their numbers are declining, the Upper Sorbian language is still the second official language.

Baruth, obersorbisch Bart , ist ein mittelgroßes Dorf im Osten des sächsischen Landkreises Bautzen. Es zählt zur Oberlausitz und gehört seit der Gemeindereform 1994 zur Gemeinde Malschwitz. Der Ort zählt offiziell zum sorbischen Siedlungsgebiet, de facto ist die Sprache jedoch aus dem Alltagsleben in Baruth beinahe verschwunden.
