The canton of Audruicq is a former canton situated in the department of the Pas-de-Calais and in the Nord-Pas-de-Calais region of northern France. It was disbanded following the French canton reorganisation which came into effect in March 2015. It consisted of 13 communes,[1] which joined the canton of Marck in 2015.[2] It had a total of 25,255 inhabitants (2012, without double counting).[1]

Geography


The canton is organised around Audruicq in the arrondissement of Saint-Omer. The altitude varies from 0m (Oye-Plage) to 64m (Ruminghem) for an average altitude of 6m.

Der Kanton Audruicq war bis 2015 ein französischer Kanton im Arrondissement Saint-Omer, im Département Pas-de-Calais und in der Region Nord-Pas-de-Calais; sein Hauptort war Audruicq. Vertreter im Generalrat des Départements war zuletzt von 2004 bis 2015 Olivier Majewicz (PS). Der Kanton Audruicq war 203,10 km² groß und hatte 23.068 Einwohner (Stand: 1999), was einer Bevölkerungsdichte von etwa 113 Einwohnern pro km² entsprach. Er lag im Mittel 6 Meter über dem Meeresspiegel, zwischen 0 Metern in Oye-Plage und 64 Metern in Ruminghem.
