Wayne Township is one of fifteen townships in Wayne County, Indiana, United States. As of the 2010 census, its population was 41,217 and it contained 19,510 housing units.[2]

Wayne Township was organized in 1810.[3]
The Forest Hills Country Club and Abram Gaar House and Farm are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.[4][5]
According to the 2010 census, the township has a total area of 52.92 square miles (137.1 km2), of which 52.2 square miles (135 km2) (or 98.64%) is land and 0.72 square miles (1.9 km2) (or 1.36%) is water.[2] The streams of Boro Brook, Bridge Brook, Chester Creek, Clear Creek, Evans Creek, Middle Fork East Fork Whitewater River, Mud Creek, Short Creek, Spring Run, Tree Brook and West Fork/East Fork of Whitewater River run through this township.
