Stanwix is a populated place situated in Maricopa County, Arizona, United States.[2] Settled in 1858, it was originally called The Dutchmans. By 1860 it was known as Stanwix Station, named for a local settler. It has also been called Grinnell Station and Stanvix Hall at other points in history. It has an estimated elevation of 548 feet (167 m) above sea level.[1] It is located on the Union Pacific Railroad's Gila Subdivision.
