Ameren's Goose Creek Energy Center, a combustion turbine generator (CTG) power plant, is located in Goose Creek Township.[3]
According to the 2010 census, the township has a total area of 56.32 square miles (145.9 km2), of which 56.3 square miles (146 km2) (or 99.96%) is land and 0.01 square miles (0.026 km2) (or 0.02%) is water.[2]
The township contains eight cemeteries: Deland, Dillow Family, Dooley Family, Kentuck, Marquiss, Morain, Mosgrove and Old Monticello.
