Kenny, Hamill (1945). West Virginia Place Names: Their Origin and Meaning, Including the Nomenclature of the Streams and Mountains. Edwight is located at the confluence of Marsh Fork of Coal River and Hazy Creek. At one time it was the site of a coal mine and community.
