Clear Creek Township was organized in 1838.[2] It was named from Clear Creek, the largest stream within its borders.[3]
According to the 2010 census, the township has a total area of 35.89 square miles (93.0 km2), of which 35.67 square miles (92.4 km2) (or 99.39%) is land and 0.22 square miles (0.57 km2) (or 0.61%) is water.[1] The stream of Flint Creek runs through this township.
