According to the 2010 census, the township has a total area of 37.24 square miles (96.5 km2), of which 36.68 square miles (95.0 km2) (or 98.50%) is land and 0.56 square miles (1.5 km2) (or 1.50%) is water.[2] It contains the north three-quarters of the city of Byron.
The township contains these two cemeteries: Byron City and Saint Mary's.
