Craighouse (Scottish Gaelic: Taigh na Creige[1]) is the main settlement and capital[2] of the Scottish Inner Hebridean island of Jura, in Argyll and Bute. In 1971 it had a population of 113.[3] The village is situated on the sheltered east coast of the island at the southern end of Small Isles Bay.

Since 2007, a passenger-only ferry service between Craighouse and Tayvallich on the Scottish mainland has operated during the summer months.[4] This service was resurrected by the community after several decades without a direct mainland ferry.

Vehicular access to the island now via a small ferry between Feolin on Jura (eight miles or thirteen kilometres south of Craighouse via road) and Port Askaig on neighbouring Islay.

The name "Craighouse" means "The house by the rock".[15]

Craighouse, schottisch-gälisch Taigh na Creige,[1] ist der Hauptort der Hebriden-Insel Jura und gehört administrativ somit zu der Council Area Argyll and Bute. Im Jahr 1971 hatte es eine Bevölkerung von 113 Einwohnern.[2] Der Ort liegt an einer geschützten Bucht des Jura-Sundes an der Ostseite der Insel. Um das Anlegen von Schiffen zu ermöglichen, wurde von Thomas Telford ein Pier errichtet.[3]
