Yuryevetsky District (Russian: Ю́рьевецкий райо́н) is an administrative and municipal district (raion), one of the twenty-one in Ivanovo Oblast, Russia.[1] It is located in the east of the oblast. The area of the district is 788 square kilometers (304 sq mi).^{[citation needed]} Its administrative center is the town of Yuryevets.[1] Population: 15,930 (2010 Census);[2] 19,366 (2002 Census);[7] 24,522 (1989 Census).[8] The population of Yuryevets accounts for 64.1% of the district's total population.[2]

Administrative and municipal status

The town of Yuryevets serves as the administrative center of the district.[1] Prior to the adoption of the Law #145-OZ On the Administrative-Territorial Division of Ivanovo Oblast in December 2010, it was administratively incorporated separately from the district. Municipally, Yuryevets is incorporated within Yuryevetsky Municipal District as Yuryevetskoye Urban Settlement.[5]
