Currimao is politically subdivided into 23 barangays. [5] These barangays are headed by elected officials: Barangay Captain, Barangay Council, whose members are called Barangay Councilors. All are elected every three years.

In the 2020 census, the population of Currimao was 12,215 people, [3] with a density of 360 inhabitants per square kilometre or 930 inhabitants per square mile.

Government
Currimao, belonging to the second congressional district of the province of Ilocos Norte, is governed by a mayor designated as its local chief executive and by a municipal council as its legislative body in accordance with the Local Government Code. The mayor, vice mayor, and the councilors are elected directly by the people through an election which is being held every three years.

Currimao ist eine Stadtgemeinde in der philippinischen Provinz Ilocos Norte und liegt am Südchinesischen Meer. In dem 36 km² großen Gebiet lebten im Jahre 2015 12.184 Menschen, wodurch sich eine Bevölkerungsdichte von 338 Einwohnern pro km² ergibt. Das Gebiet ist größtenteils relativ flach, steigt aber im Landesinneren leicht an. Neben einem Leuchtturm befinden sich an der Küste schroffe, aber sehenswerte Korallenformationen.
