San Gabriel ist ein Municipio im mexikanischen Bundesstaat Jalisco in der Región Sur. Das Municipio hatte beim Zensus 2010 15.310 Einwohner; die Fläche des Municipios beträgt 748,3 km². Zwischen 1934 und 1993 lautete der Name des Municipios Venustiano Carranza.

Größter Ort im Municipio und Verwaltungssitz ist das gleichnamige San Gabriel (1934–1993 ebenfalls Venustiano Carranza genannt). Weitere Orte mit zumindest 1000 Einwohnern sind Jiquilpan, Alista, El Jazmín und Las Primaveras. Das Municipio umfasst insgesamt 63 Ortschaften.

Das Municipio San Gabriel grenzt an die Municipios Tonaya, Tapalpa, Sayula, Zapotlán el Grande, Tuxpan, Zapotitlán de Vadillo, Tolimán und Tuxcacuesco.

Das Gemeindegebiet weist aufgrund der Lage am Rande der Sierra Volcánica Transversal eine recht uneinheitliche Orographie auf. Der höchste Punkt des Municipios liegt auf 3700 m. Gut die Hälfte der Gemeindefläche ist bewaldet, etwa 30 % werden landwirtschaftlich genutzt.

San Gabriel ( ) is a town and municipality, in Jalisco in central-western Mexico 141 km from the capital of Guadalajara (formerly Ciudad Venustiano Carranza). The municipality covers an area of 449.01 km². It was the birthplace of Mexican actor José Mojica, with the main street carrying his name.Its delegations include Jiquilpan and other surrounding towns. As of 1 October 2021, David Rafael Valencia García, of the Citizens' Movement, holds power as municipal president. The towns economy is mostly agricultural/commercial, but services, as is in the rest of Mexico are rapidly becoming part of the mainstream economy. Tourism remains domestic as about 10-15% of the towns resident born from 1955-1970 have moved to the United States of America or Canada at a period in time since 1986. The towns geographical location places it in visible sight of Colima (volcano), and within an hour to two hours drive from neighboring state, Colima.
