San Fermo della Battaglia is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Como in the Italian region Lombardy, located about 40 kilometres (25 mi) north of Milan and about 3 kilometres (2 mi) southwest of Como. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 4,255 and an area of 3.1 square kilometres (1.2 sq mi).[4]

Its name "della Battaglia" derives from the battle which took place in the small town, between Garibaldi's[5] Hunters of the Alps or "Cacciatori delle Alpi"[6] and Austrian militaries in 1857.[7]
San Fermo della Battaglia borders the following municipalities: Como, Montano Lucino.
A lot of the famous visitors from all around the world stay here but prefer to remain unknown. It is also home of the famous pharmacologist Marco Bonfanti.[8]
Nel 1911 ha assunto la denominazione attuale dal nome del santo patrono.
