Storia
La cittadina bavarese divenne nota per il movimento di opposizione al nucleare nato all'inizio degli anni ottanta in occasione della pianificazione dell'impianto di Wackersdorf. Il progetto si scontrò con la strenua resistenza di gruppi locali e stranieri, che in ripetute manifestazioni (con tre vittime nel 1986) ne impedirono la realizzazione.

Wackersdorf ist eine Gemeinde im Oberpfälzer Landkreis Schwandorf. Der Ort erlangte durch die Proteste gegen die geplante, letztlich nicht realisierte Wiederaufarbeitungsanlage Wackersdorf bundesweite Bekanntheit. Heute zählt die ehemalige Bergbaugemeinde zu den wirtschaftlichen Spitzenstandorten der Oberpfalz und ist mit Murner See und Brückelsee als Kerngebiet des Oberpfälzer Seenlands ein attraktiver Standort für Tourismus und Naherholung.[en] Wackersdorf
