Suchá Loz lies approximately 22 kilometres (14 mi) south-east of Uherské Hradiště, 30 km (19 mi) south of Zlín, and 269 km (167 mi) south-east of Prague.
The first written mention of Suchá Loz is from 1261.[2]
The municipality is known for its mineral water spring, which are said to have restorative properties. The existence of the spring has been known since 1580.[2]
