Pu'er (chinois : 普洱市 ; pinyin : pǔ'ěr shì) est une ville de la province du Yunnan en Chine. Son ancien nom de Simao (思茅, Sīmáo) a été officiellement remplacé le 8 avril 2007 par celui du thé particulièrement renommé dont cette ville est le marché depuis l'Antiquité, le pu-erh, produit dans la région voisine de Xishuangbanna[2].

Pu’er (chinesisch 普洱市, Pinyin Pǔ’ěr Shì – „Pu’er-Stadt“)a) ist eine bezirksfreie Stadt in der chinesischen Provinz Yunnan. Es handelt sich dabei um die ehemalige bezirksfreie Stadt Simao (思茅市, Sīmáo Shì), die am 21. Januar 2007 in Pu’er umbenannt wurde[2]. Bei dieser Gelegenheit wurden auch das Verwaltungszentrum (Stadtbezirk Cuiyun) in Stadtbezirk Simao und der Autonome Kreis Pu’er in Autonomer Kreis Ning'er umbenannt.

Pu'er is a prefecture-level city in southern Yunnan Province, China. The urban administrative center of Pu'er is Simao District, which is also the former name of the prefecture-level city itself. A major downturn in the price of tea in 2007 caused severe economic distress in the area.[4] The price of Pu'er has since recovered and Pu'er tea still contributes much to the income of the area.
