The territory was little populated before the arrival of Europeans. Settlement in the territory began in 1853, principally by Germans and Portuguese. The territory used to be part of Lajeado and Encantado municipalities.

Arroio do Meio, Aussprache?/i, amtlich portugiesisch Município de Arroio do Meio, deutsch Mittelbach, ist eine brasilianische Gemeinde im Bundesstaat Rio Grande do Sul. Sie liegt am Rio Taquari im Vale do Taquari am Rande der Serra Gaúcha. Die Einwohnerzahl wurde zum 1. Juli 2021 auf 21.121 Bewohner geschätzt, die Arroiomeenser genannt werden und auf einer Gemeindefläche von rund 157 km² leben.[1] Gesprochen wird in Teilen noch das Riograndenser Hunsrückisch.- [en] Arroio do Meio

Входит в экономико-статистический микрорегион Лажеаду-Эстрела. Население составляет 18 079 человек на 2007 год. Занимает площадь 157,955 км².
