The village subsequently became part of the breakaway Republic of Artsakh as part of its Shahumyan Province, referred to as Havsatagh (Armenian: Հավսաթաղ). It was returned to Azerbaijan as part of the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh ceasefire agreement.
