History
The locality was officially named and bounded on 29 May 1998.[2]
Oakdale State School opened on 10 August 1916 and closed in 1941.[3] It was on the north-east corner of Gessler and Crownthorpe Roads (26.1989°S 151.9102°E).[4]
In the 2016 census, Oakdale had a population of 56 people.[1]
