Vokhomsky District (Russian: Во́хомский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[7] district (raion), one of the twenty-four in Kostroma Oblast, Russia. It is located in the east of the oblast. The area of the district is 3,400 square kilometers (1,300 sq mi).[2] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a settlement) of Vokhma.[1] Population: 10,152 (2010 Census);[3] 13,444 (2002 Census);[9] 16,891 (1989 Census).[10] The population of Vokhma accounts for 43.2% of the district's total population.[3]
