Peru ist eine Stadt im LaSalle County des Bundesstaates Illinois in den Vereinigten Staaten. Das U.S. Census Bureau hat bei der Volkszählung 2020 eine Einwohnerzahl von 9.896[1] ermittelt. Peru liegt am Illinois River und befindet sich 3 Meilen (4,8 km) westlich der Kreuzung von zwei großen Interstate Highways: Interstate 39 und Interstate 80. Die Stadt ist auch der westliche Endpunkt des historischen Illinois and Michigan Canal. Peru und seine Zwillingsstadt LaSalle bilden den Kern des Illinois Valley.
