Nella zona nordoccidentale della città si trova il quartiere storico di Lynn Common, inaugurato nel 1637 ed abitato pochi anni dopo; nel 1992 è stato inserito nel National Register of Historic Places (registro nazionale americano dei luoghi storici), così come la Charles Lovejoy House, un'antica casa coloniale situata al 64 di Broad Street, costruita nel 1893 ed inserita nel registro nel 1978.

Lynn is the eighth-largest municipality in Massachusetts[8] and the largest city in Essex County. Situated on the Atlantic Ocean, 3.7 miles (6.0 km) north of the Boston city line at Suffolk Downs, Lynn is part of Greater Boston's urban inner core.[9] Settled by Europeans in 1629, Lynn is the 5th oldest colonial settlement in the Commonwealth.[10] An early industrial center, Lynn was long colloquially referred to as the "City of Sin", owing to its historical reputation for crime and vice. Today, however, the city is known for its contemporary public art,[11][12][13][14] immigrant population, historic architecture, downtown cultural district, loft-style apartments, and public parks and open spaces,[15] which include the oceanfront Lynn Shore Reservation; the 2,200-acre, Frederick Law Olmsted-designed Lynn Woods Reservation; and the High Rock Reservation and Park designed by Olmsted's sons.[16] Lynn also is home to Lynn Heritage State Park,[17] the southernmost portion of the Essex Coastal Scenic Byway,[18] and the seaside, National Register-listed Diamond Historic District.[19] The population was 101,253 at the time of the 2020 United States Census.[20]- [it] Lynn (Massachusetts)
