La contea di Travis in inglese Travis County è una contea dello Stato del Texas, negli Stati Uniti. La popolazione al censimento del 2010 era di 1 024 266 abitanti, ed è quindi la quinta contea più popolata dell'intero Stato Texas.[1] Il capoluogo di contea è Austin,[2] la capitale dello Stato Texas. La contea è stata creata nel 1840, e prende il nome da William Barret Travis, comandante militare texano e avvocato, morto durante Alamo.

The county was established in 1840 and is named in honor of William Barret Travis, the commander of the Republic of Texas forces at the Battle of the Alamo. Travis County is part of the Austin–Round Rock–Georgetown Metropolitan Statistical Area.
