San Augustine County ist ein County im östlichen Teil des US-Bundesstaats Texas. Der Sitz der County-Verwaltung (County Seat) befindet sich in San Augustine. Historisch gehört es zu den frühesten Ansiedlungszentren angelsächsischer Siedler in Texas. Benannt ist es nach einem christlichen Heiligen, Augustinus von Hippo. Das County ist ländlich geprägt; wirtschaftlich dominieren Land- sowie die in Osttexas stark präsente Holzwirtschaft. Aufgrund des nahegelegenen Sam Rayburn Reservoirs sowie zweier als National Forest ausgewiesener Gebiete kommt als weiterer Faktor der Naherholungstourismus hinzu. Mit 7.918 Einwohnern (Zählung: 2020) sowie einer Flächenausdehnung von 1.534 Quadratkilometern zählt das County eher zu den „kleinen“ texanischen Countys. Einzige City im County ist San Augustine; mit dem Status Town versehen ist darüber hinaus die im Südteil des Bezirks gelegene Ortschaft Broaddus.[en] San Augustine County, Texas
