Ashtabula [.mw-parser-output .IPA a{text-decoration:none}æʃtəˈbjuːlə] ist eine Stadt im Ashtabula County im Bundesstaat Ohio in den Vereinigten Staaten. Die 1803 gegründete Stadt liegt an der Mündung des Ashtabula River und ist ein wichtiger Kohlehafen am Eriesee. Fluss und Hafen sind aufgrund der industriellen Ausbeutung in der Vergangenheit Gegenstand von Superfund-Maßnahmen. Im Jahre 2000 hatte Ashtabula 20.962 Einwohner. Die Einwohnerzahl ist seit den 1960er Jahren jedoch rückläufig; 2006 lebten nach den Berechnungen des United States Census Bureaus nur noch 20.177 Menschen hier. Der Name Ashtabula entstammt der Sprache der Irokesen und bedeutet „Fluss der vielen Fische“.

Ashtabula (/ˌæʃtəˈbjuːlə/ ASH-tə-BYU-lə[6]) is a city in Ashtabula County, Ohio, United States, and the center of the Ashtabula Micropolitan Statistical Area (as defined by the United States Census Bureau in 2003). It is located at the mouth of the Ashtabula River on Lake Erie, one of the Great Lakes, across from the province of Ontario, Canada and 53 miles (85 km) northeast of Cleveland. The name Ashtabula is derived from ashtepihəle, which means 'always enough fish to be shared around' in the Lenape language.
