La contea si trova nella parte sud-occidentale dell'Alabama e confina a ovest con lo Stato del Mississippi. Lo United States Census Bureau certifica che l'estensione della contea è di 4.258 km², di cui 3.194 km² composti da terra e i rimanenti 1.064 km² composti di acqua.

Storia


La Contea di Mobile venne costituita il 18 dicembre 1812. La contea venne dichiarata area disastrata nel settembre 1979 a causa dei danni creati dall'uragano Frederic, e nel settembre 2005 a causa dell'uragano Katrina.

Das Mobile County[1][2] ist ein County im US-Bundesstaat Alabama. Bei der Volkszählung im Jahr 2020 hatte das County 414.809 Einwohner und eine Bevölkerungsdichte von 129,3 Einwohnern pro Quadratkilometer. Der Verwaltungssitz (County Seat) ist Mobile.[3]

Mobile County (/moʊˈbiːl/ moh-BEEL) is located in the southwestern corner of the U.S. state of Alabama. It is the second most-populous county in the state after Jefferson County. As of the 2020 census, its population was 414,809.[2] Its county seat is Mobile, which was founded as a deepwater port on the Mobile River. The only such port in Alabama, it has long been integral to the economy for providing access to inland waterways as well as the Gulf of Mexico.[3]
