Pour l'historien Daniel J. Boorstin, Shaker Heights « donna le ton à toutes les banlieues du pays », ceci en évitant le plan en damier typique des villes et en créant des rues en courbes épousant le contour de lacs artificiels. Cette promotion urbaine fut le fait des frères Van Sweringen qui dotèrent Shaker Heights d'un réseau de transports en commun[1].

• L'intrigue du livre et de la série Little Fires Everywhere, se déroule Shaker Heights. L'auteure Celeste Ng y a vécu durant son adolescence.[2]

Shaker Heights ist eine Stadt im Cuyahoga County, Bundesstaat Ohio. Sie ist ein sogenannter Straßenbahn-Vorort (englisch streetcar suburb) von Cleveland und liegt knapp 14 km östlich dessen Stadtzentrums.

Shaker Heights is a city in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, United States. As of the 2020 Census, the city population was 29,439. Shaker Heights is an inner-ring streetcar suburb of Cleveland, abutting the eastern edge of the city's limits. In July 1911, a petition by property owners was successful in detaching a long strip of land from the south of Cleveland Heights, to be named Shaker Village. In November 1911, the voters of Shaker Village formed Shaker Heights Village, which was incorporated in January 1912. It is the birthplace of the actor Paul Newman.
