Council Grove ist eine Kleinstadt im US-Bundesstaat Kansas und Sitz der Verwaltung von Morris County. Der Ort mit 2321 Einwohnern (Stand 2000) liegt am Ostufer des Neosho Rivers unmittelbar südlich des Council Grove Lake Stausees. Im Ort überquert der U.S. Highway 56 den Fluss. Er folgt hier dem Santa Fe Trail, einem historischen Handelsweg, der in der Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts die kulturelle und wirtschaftliche Verbindung zwischen den besiedelten Regionen am rund 100 km entfernten Missouri River und dem zunächst noch mexikanischen Südwesten darstellte.[en] Council Grove, Kansas
Council Grove is a city and county seat in Morris County, Kansas, United States.[1] As of the 2020 census, the population of the city was 2,140.[4] It was named after an agreement between American settlers and the Osage Nation allowing settlers' wagon trains to pass westward through the area on the Santa Fe Trail.
