    Le comté a une superficie de 11 337 km2, dont 10 272 km2 de terre.

    Le parc d'État Baxter, une grande aire protégée, est situé dans ce comté.

    Deux des trois plus grands lacs du Maine se trouvent dans le comté : le lac de Moosehead et le lac Chesuncook.

    Piscataquis County[1] ist ein County im Bundesstaat Maine der Vereinigten Staaten. Piscataquis County ist der Teil von Maine mit der geringsten Bevölkerungsdichte. Der Sitz der Countyverwaltung, die Shire Town ist Dover-Foxcroft. Piscataquis stammt aus der Sprache der Abenaki und bedeutet Flussarm.

    Piscataquis County is a county located in the U.S. state of Maine. As of the 2020 census, its population was 16,800, making it Maine's least-populous county.[1] Its county seat is Dover-Foxcroft.[2] The county was incorporated on March 23, 1838, taken from the western part of Penobscot County and the eastern part of Somerset County. It is named for an Abenaki word meaning "branch of the river" or "at the river branch."
