The CDP is a part of the Breckenridge, CO Micropolitan Statistical Area. The population of the Heeney CDP was 76 at the United States Census 2010.[4] The Silverthorne post office (Zip Code 80498) serves Heeney postal addresses.[3]

The Heeney post office was established in 1939, and remained in operation until 1960.[5] The community has the name of Paul Heeney, a local property owner.[6]
