Eagle Creek Township was established in 1839.[4]
The Kingsbury-Doak Farmhouse was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.[5]
According to the 2010 census, the township has a total area of 56.01 square miles (145.1 km2), of which 55.84 square miles (144.6 km2) (or 99.70%) is land and 0.16 square miles (0.41 km2) (or 0.29%) is water.[3]
Eagle Creek Township, along with Cedar Creek Township and West Creek Township, is served by the Tri-Creek School Corporation which includes Lowell High School.
