Bala (Welsh: Y Bala) is a town and community in Gwynedd, Wales. Formerly an urban district, Bala lies in the historic county of Merionethshire, at the north end of Bala Lake (Welsh: Llyn Tegid). At the 2011 Census, it had a population of 1,974,[1][2] 78.5% of whom spoke Welsh.[3][4]
