Whitchurch ist eine Stadt im District Shropshire in der Grafschaft Shropshire, England, an der Grenze zu Wales. Whitchurch ist 29,6 km von Shrewsbury entfernt,[1] mit dem sie die A49 road verbindet, die hier von der A41 road und der A525 road gekreuzt wird. Im Jahr 2001 hatte sie 8673 Einwohner.[2] Whitchurch wurde 1086 im Domesday Book als Westune/Westone erwähnt.[3]

Whitchurch is a market town in the north of Shropshire, England. It lies 2 miles (3 km) east of the Welsh border, 2 miles south of the Cheshire border, 20 miles (30 km) north of the county town of Shrewsbury, 20 miles (30 km) south of Chester, and 15 miles (24 km) east of Wrexham. At the 2011 Census, the population of the town was 9,781.[1] Whitchurch is the oldest continuously inhabited town in Shropshire.[2] Notable people who have lived in Whitchurch include the composer Sir Edward German, and illustrator Randolph Caldecott.
