Dronfield ist eine Stadt in der Region East Midlands und eine Verwaltungseinheit im District North East Derbyshire in der Grafschaft Derbyshire, England.[1] Dronfield ist 42,1 km von Derby entfernt.[2] Im Jahr 2001 hatte es eine Bevölkerung von 21.177 Einwohnern.[3] Seit 1981 besteht eine Partnerschaft zu Sindelfingen bei Stuttgart.[4] Dronfield wurde 1086 im Domesday Book als Dranefeld erwähnt.[5]

Dronfield is a town in North East Derbyshire, England, which includes Dronfield Woodhouse and Coal Aston. It lies in the valley of the River Drone between Chesterfield and Sheffield. The Peak District National Park is three miles (4.8 km) to the west. The name comes from the Old English Dranfleld, probably meaning an open land infested with drone bees.[1]
