Sultangazi ist eine Stadtgemeinde (Belediye) im gleichnamigen Ilçe (Landkreis) der Provinz Istanbul in der türkischen Marmararegion und gleichzeitig ein Stadtbezirk der 1984 gebildeten Büyükşehir belediyesi İstanbul (Großstadtgemeinde/Metropolprovinz). Sultangazi liegt auf der europäischen Seite der Großstadt und ist seit der Gebietsreform ab 2013 flächen- und einwohnermäßig identisch mit dem Landkreis.[en] Sultangazi
Sultangazi is one of Istanbul's newer inner-city districts. It was founded as a district proper in 2009 by the "New Local Government Law" in Istanbul, Turkey. To the west are the neighbourhoods of Esenler and Başakşehir, Gaziosmanpaşa is to the south and Eyüp is to the north and east. The district of Gaziosmanpaşa was divided to three districts, and Sultangazi is one of them. One border of the district is formed by the TEM highway.[es] Distrito de Sultangazi
