    Mecitözü ist eine Stadt und ein Landkreis der türkischen Provinz Çorum. Die Stadt liegt etwa 30 Kilometer östlich der Provinzhauptstadt Çorum. Die Stadt Mecitözü liegt am Fluss Efennik Çayı, einem Nebenfluss des Çorum Çayı, der wiederum in den Çekerek Çayı mündet. Im Norden liegt der Bergzug Çakır Dağı, im Süden der Kırklar Dağı. Die Stadt beherbergt mehr als ein Viertel der Landkreisbevölkerung (2020: 28,9 %).

    Mecitözü is a town and district of Çorum Province in the Black Sea region of Turkey, 37 km from the city of Çorum. The district covers an area of 942 km², and the elevation is 750 m. According to 2000 census the district's population is 26,064, of which 5,787 live in the town of Mecitözü, with the majority living in the surrounding countryside. The mayor is Ünal Yavuz (CHP).
