    Eskil ist eine Stadt und ein Landkreis in der türkischen Provinz Aksaray. Sie wurde 1929 zu einer Belediye erhoben. Knapp 64 Prozent der Landkreisbevölkerung entfallen auf die Kreisstadt. Der 1990 gegründete Landkreis befindet sich im Westen der Provinz und grenzt an den Tuz Gölü. Der Landkreis ist komplett eben und besitzt keine Hügel oder Berge. Das Klima ist kontinental. Neben der Stadt Eskil gibt es mit Eşmekaya noch eine weitere Gemeinde (2671 Einwohner) und elf Dörfer, von denen drei mehr Einwohner als der Durchschnitt haben (601 Einw.): Başaran (1599), Başaran (707) und Büğet (704 Einw.). Der Kreis hat die niedrigste Bevölkerungsdichte der Provinz (16,0 Einw. je km²), 24,3 % der Bevölkerung lebt auf dem Land.

    Eskil is a town and district of Aksaray Province in the Central Anatolia region of Turkey, situated on the southern shore of Lake Tuz. According to 2000 census, population of the district is 28,952 of which 22,125 live in the town of Eskil.[3] The district covers an area of 1,369 km2 (529 sq mi),[4] and the average elevation in the center is 932 m (3,058 ft).
